On 6 April 2011, PATPOL in cooperation with the Polish Federation of Engineering Associations, under the aegis of the Polish Patent Office, held a seminar entitled ?From idea to patent?.
Patent attorneys and lawyers from PATPOL gave lectures on various topics, such as ?Patent ? a source of revenue or threat??, ?Trademarks, Industrial Designs. How to obtain effective protection across the European Union?? and ?Owner of industrial property rights against infringer?.
On 13-14 April 2010, the second edition of easyFairs? PACKAGING INNOVATIONS took place at EXPO XXI in Warsaw. During two busy days, exhibitors from Poland and other parts of Europe presented different offers of innovative solutions for the packaging, as well as the newest methods of printing.
The visitors had an opportunity to talk about strategy for legal protection of innovative packaging by obtaining a patent, a protection right for utility model, an industrial design registration, as well as to discuss registration of trademarks issues at PATPOL?s exhibition. Moreover, on 14 April 2010, Tomasz Rychlicki, a lawyer from the Trademark Department of PATPOL, gave a lecture entitled ?The protection of Innovative packaging in Polish and European intellectual property law?. During this short lecture a brief overview of the Polish and European intellectual property law that could be used for the effective innovative packaging protection, was presented. Participants had also an opportunity to learn about how to obtain legal protection, e.g. for trademarks or industrial designs.
The external appearance of a product is an important element of promotion and strategy of creating the image of a company as well as the products that it is manufacturing. An interesting appearance increases the value of the product, raises its attractiveness and attracts the customers? attention, which allows to gain the advantage over competition on the market.
The Warsaw District Administrative Court has affirmed a decision of the Polish Patent Office in which the latter had cancelled the registration for the complex trademark 80 (Registration 156993) for ?periodicals containing crossword puzzles; crosswords?
